WALES STUDY ABROAD PHOTOS

back to top Our Welsh home, Ystradgynalis. By the time we left we knew how to pronounce it. This small town was the perfect place to stay.
Downtown Ystradgynlais where we went for many a walk.

Just like the sign outside Jones House in Boone! One of the many ways we felt at home in Wales.
This never got old! Luckily we were at St. Fagans outdoor museum of Welsh life so we weren't the only tourists around.
Touring around downtown Swansea. So many wonderful shops, pubs, and restaurants.
A lovely veiw of Swansea Valley from the Call of the Wild farm. The view on the other side is unfortunately a strip mine.

Taking a lovely stroll to Carreg Cennen Castle with our knowledgeable tour guide, Geraint.
Another view of Carreg Cennen Castle

A beautiful view of the Welsh countryside spralled out below the Carreg Cennen Castle.

Walking up to Carew Castle in Pembrokeshire.

Another view of Carew Castle.
Castle exploring.

A beautiful walk along the Becah Cliffs.
The weather did turn gloomy for our day at Blaenavon Ironworks and Big Pit Coal Mine. We kept out of the rain touring
through the ironworks ruins and descending into the mine with hard hats and head lamps.

Choir practice at the Onllwyn Miner's Welfare Hall. One of the highlights of our trip to Wales was spending time
with the Choir. They treated us to many concerts and hosted a buffet and pub quiz night in our honor. If you
look closely you can see the choir member in the middle wearing an ASU t-shirt!
Course director, Billy Schumann, leads by example as our group learns about industrial
South Wales at the Maritime Museum in Swansea.
A beautiful view at the top of a steep climb during our hike in the
Brecon Beacon mountains.
The town of Hay-on-Wye, a small town with over 250 bookstores. We picked up quite
a few and spent a lovely day walking around the village.
